I could probably list loads of films where the makeup artistry has been awsome but can only list 5.

 

The first being a proud Scot has to be Mel gibson playing William Wallace in Braveheart....FREEDOM!  

 

 

 

I love the makeup in the likes of movies such as Mrs Doubtfire and Tootsie that transform the actors into middle aged women.

 

Benjanim Button and The Goonies are also great examples of aging and special effect make up...and theres a bit of eye candy there with Brad Pitt half way through the film.

 

 

 

When it comes to wigs Hairspray, Alice in Wonderland and Pirates of the Caribbean have got to be up there with the best.

 

 

 

The Lion King that is currently showing at Lyceum Theatre makes great use of wigs and hair piece's.

Top makeup product Task 6

My favourite beauty product that I cant live without is YSL's iconic Touche eclat. If I'm having a good skin day I can use this without foundation just touching up any dark circles, blemishes and highlighting cheek bones, brows at the sides of your nose, the corner of your mouth and the hollow of your chin. It really is amazing.

 
The top voted product discussed in class was Kat's Collection lasting perfection concealer. Its had rave reviews comes in four shades and best of all costs under £5.00. Defo going to have to try this out!!!

I wasn't really sure what to expect on my first day here at West College Scotland but was soon put at ease by Bella and Mo. My first impressions of the college were really good, the building is in the middle of a revamp but I'm sure and the goings on will be well worth it once it's complete. I knew pretty much right away at the start of this term that I had opted for the right course.

The funniest thing that's happened so far is when Kat set my hair in rollers....move over Hilda Ogden!

I'm really enjoying the special effect class, watching the lectures create wounds and scars then trying to recreate them is defo up my street!

Sam Fine is one of my favourite makeup artists, he's one of the highest paid make up artists in the world today. Commanding a salary of more than $3,500 per day...wow! He's the guy behind the faces of the likes of supermodels like Naomi Campbell, Iman and Tyra Banks. Celebrities like Vanessa Williams, Queen Latifah and Patti Labelle have also availed of his services.

I've wanted to be a makeup artist for a long time now but circumstances and family life have always came first. Now I have some time for me am really glad I decided to take the plunge and enrolled.

loving all the Pixi woo you tube videos and that Sam and Nic Chapman have a vast range of tutorials to cover pratically any look you want to create. To think that they started out just like myself and college buddies and now travel the world working for the like of Lord Snowdon, Harpers, Elle and celebs such as Paul McCartney. Their career has branched into all directions where they have developed a brush line called "Real Techniques". The fact that they juggle such a hetic working lifestyle with families is a huge inspiration. Check them out on you tube.  click here for more info
